GOV AKEREDOLU, OTHER OLD STUDENTS OF 68/72 SET DONATE BUILDING TO LOYOLA COLLEGE

Old students of Loyola College, Ibadan, 1968/1972 set, on Saturday handed over an expansive and magnificent hall to the school management for the use of the college and the Old Boys Association. Loyola College, Ibadan, is Governor Akeredolu alma-mater.  The Governor and his former School mates of 1968/1972 set donated the hall to the college to mark their 50 years of leaving the school and as part of their resolve to give back to their alma mater.  The magnificent Hall, named after Governor Akeredolu, was commissioned by the Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi.  The Set, known as VERITA “6872”, also remodeled the frontal school fence which was commissioned by the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.  Wife of the Governor, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, graced the event as well as family and friends of the Governor.  The edifice was blessed and unveiled by His Grace, Most Rev. The Federal government of Nigeria says it will penalise the POPULAR British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Daily Trust News Company over their documentaries on terrorism and banditry in Nigeria  Minister of information and culture,  Lai Mohammad said this in Abuja on Thursday 28. “Let me assure you, they will not get away with this naked glorification of terrorism and banditry in Nigeria. Oyo Monarch, Aseyin Of Iseyin Joined Ancestors

  The Oyo State has lost another traditional ruler, the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdul-Ganiyu Adekunle Salawudeen. A palace source said that, Oba Salawudeen joined his ancestors on Sunday 24, after a brief illness. The source added that his demise would be made official after the necessary traditional protocol.  In his condolence message, the Olugbon of Orile- Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao and the Vice-Chairman, Oyo State Council of traditional rulers expressed shock over the transition of Aseyin of Iseyin. The monarch, in a statement personally signed Reads; “The death of Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdul Ganiyu Adekunle Salau got to me suddenly. "This is another great loss to the Oyo State Obas Council and Chiefs. "He served his people wholeheartedly and was selfless. We all in the traditional council in Oyo State will miss him dearly".  I pray God almighty comforts and consoles his family and the entire Oyo State.

9 Passagers Die In Ondo Auto Crash

Nine person have lost their lives in an accident that happened on Friday along the Ore-Lagos expressway. The victims of the auto crash, which involved a white Toyota Hiace bus with the license plate FKJ 095 XE and a Honda Accord Saloon car which registration number is unknown, were completely burnt to death. The Omotosho-Step Down Bridge in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State where the accident happened witnessed heavy gridlock on the busy road. According to the Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ore Unit Command, Mr. Sikiru Alonge, nine people were burnt to death in a horrifying accident that occurred on the Ore-Lagos road early this morning. Alonge revealed that the victims’ remains had been deposited in the General Hospital morgue in Ore. The Commander cautioned that all traffic laws and regulations must be followed in order to protect people and property, while also advising drivers to always drive within the speed limit and practice patience
